Gold prices on the Indian MCX market closed lower on Friday, mirroring losses in international bullion markets due to a strong dollar. MCX Gold December futures ended 0.18% lower at ₹1,21,284 per 10 grams on October 31st at 11:34 pm, while MCX Silver December contracts rose 0.08% to ₹1,48,399 per kg. According to the Indian Bullion Association (IBA), 24-carat gold rates were at ₹1,21,650 per 10 grams at 10:30 am on November 2nd, and 22-carat gold was at ₹1,11,513 per 10 grams. Silver prices were at ₹1,48,850 per kg (Silver 999 Fine).
Gold has seen significant price surges over the last two decades, rising an impressive 1,200% from ₹7,638 in 2005 to over ₹1,25,000 in 2025 (as of September). This has delivered positive returns in 16 of those years. Gold prices gained 56% on a year-to-date (YTD) basis, with consistent record highs solidifying their position among the top-performing asset classes in 2025. Today's gold rates for major cities like Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai are available. Jewellers may add making charges, taxes, and GST to the bill, which will likely increase the final price for retail customers.
