Exploring the New Alexa Plus Web Interface: Features & Benefits (2026)

A bold revelation about Alexa Plus: the Alexa.com experience is finding its way to real users, not just a concept. The Alexa.com domain, once a simple hub for site rankings, now occasionally greets some visitors with a fresh web interface tied to Alexa Plus, Amazon’s revamped digital assistant. This web-based front end was teased during the Alexa Plus launch and has gradually appeared for early access users, including me, who signed in with their Amazon account.

When I navigated to Alexa.com, I landed on a page that looked strikingly similar to the Alexa Plus chatbot you’d find in the mobile app. After a quick setup, I reached a large blue-and-white screen that welcomed me with the prompt: “Hello Jen, how can I help?” above a text box. You can upload a file, and there are navigation links labeled Plan, Learn, Create, Shop, and Find.

The menus offer ready-made prompts that funnel you into the chatbot experience, such as “Plan for my next getaway,” “Create a study guide for my exam,” “Shop trending products,” and “Book a table for a restaurant.” At the bottom of the chat window, a small disclaimer cautions: “Alexa may not always get it right.”

On the left, a toolbar provides quick access to recent chats (including conversations from Echo devices), smart home controls that respond promptly, your calendar, Alexa lists, reminders, tasks, and a files section. The files area lets you access uploaded documents, photos, and even emails you’ve sent to Alexa Plus—features rolled out with the new assistant.

Many of these capabilities mirror what Alexa Plus can do on Echo devices and in the app, but the web interface makes interaction easier with a keyboard and a larger screen.

I haven’t explored every nook of the web interface yet, but I’m convinced this could be a major upgrade for those who prefer typing to voice commands. It promises to be a significant improvement over the existing Alexa app, which remains somewhat cumbersome in daily use. I also recall the older Alexa web interface, which Amazon retired in 2022, a change many users missed for its bulk management features, like bulk deleting smart home devices.

What’s clear is that this web interface marks Amazon’s first concerted effort to weave Alexa Plus into everyday workflows beyond the home. The idea is to control smart devices, manage lists, and perform tasks from a desk with just a few clicks, while Alexa Plus begins to compete more directly with AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. So far, the early impressions are promising.

Access to Alexa.com appears to be limited to a staged rollout, and you must be part of the Alexa Plus early access program. The service requires a Prime membership, with Amazon indicating a future option for a $19.99-per-month subscription.

If you’re curious about the ongoing rollout or want to join the early access, follow updates from The Verge and Amazon’s official channels for the latest details.
