This is made possible by leveraging a new launch vehicle, Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket. The spacecraft will first head to Lagrange Point 2 (L2), a gravitational sweet spot about 1.5 million kilometers from Earth. Here, they'll orbit in a kidney bean-shaped path until the next Mars transfer window opens in November 2026. This waiting game allows for optimal alignment between Earth and Mars, ensuring an efficient journey.

The mission's innovative approach comes with inherent risks. Spacecraft components degrade over time, which adds a layer of uncertainty. Despite these challenges, the team is optimistic, acknowledging that success isn't guaranteed. Other low-cost missions have faced setbacks, including Lunar Trailblazer and LunaH-Map.
