El Rancho Restaurante y Pupuseria: Central PA's Newest Mexican Hotspot with a Full Bar! (2026)

Craving a margarita with your fajitas? Central Pennsylvania's El Rancho Restaurante y Pupuseria is now serving them up, along with a whole lot more! This exciting development marks a significant shift for the popular eatery.

This update comes from a PennLive.com article, originally published on November 5, 2025, at 11:20 a.m. and updated at 11:26 a.m. by Sue Gleiter, the dining reporter.

El Rancho, located in Fairview Township at 135 Sheraton Drive, officially launched its full-service bar on October 31st. This move follows the approval of their liquor license, a process that, according to co-owner Manuel Ambrocio, caused some initial business setbacks. He humorously noted how much their customers were anticipating the perfect pairing of fajitas and margaritas.

Ambrocio and his wife, Maria Ramirez, drew inspiration from their existing El Rancho restaurant at 771 Eisenhower Blvd. in Swatara Township. Both locations offer an authentic Central American menu, a delightful fusion of Mexican and El Salvadoran cuisine, reflecting the couple's diverse heritage. Ambrocio's roots lie in Guatemala, near the El Salvadoran border, while Ramirez hails from Mexico.

But here's where it gets exciting: El Rancho is upping the entertainment ante! They're introducing karaoke nights every Thursday and monthly appearances by a mariachi band, alongside enticing food specials.

And this is the part most people miss... the deals! Happy hours run from 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, featuring $3 draft beers and half-price appetizers. They also have daily specials, including free meals for kids on Mondays, all-you-can-eat tacos on Tuesdays, and a 10% discount on fajitas on Wednesdays.

Before the liquor license was approved, El Rancho operated as a BYOB establishment. Now, with the bar open, the restaurant is ready to serve you.

Here are the hours:
* Sunday-Thursday: 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.
* Friday-Saturday: 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.
