The Summit Country Day girls' soccer team is on a roll, maintaining their undefeated streak after a thrilling 2-1 victory over Indian Hill. But here's where it gets controversial—was it a fair win? Indian Hill dominated the first half, with Kaylee Vandermark's early goal setting the tone. However, Summit Country Day's halftime team talk, led by senior captain Mia Stevens, ignited a comeback. The Silver Knights stormed back to score twice in quick succession, securing their spot in the state semifinals.
And they're not the only ones making waves. The Madeira girls' soccer team is on a mission, advancing to the state tournament for the third consecutive year. This team means business!
The regional finals on November 1st were a showcase of Cincinnati's talent. Seton, after a thrilling volleyball victory, secured their spot in the state tournament with a second-half comeback against Centerville. Anderson's penalty kick victory over St. Ursula was nail-biting, earning them a spot in the state semifinals for the first time in over a decade. Badin, rising from the ashes, returns to the state tournament after a 2013-2014 back-to-back title win, and Madeira, the defending Division V champs, is back to defend their title.
The state semifinals are set to be an intense battle, with Summit Country Day facing the winner of Ottawa-Glandorf and Niles McKinley, and Seton taking on the winner of Pickerington North and Olentangy Berlin. Anderson will clash with Anthony Wayne, and Badin will challenge Akron Archbishop Hoban. Madeira awaits Milford Center Fairbanks.
